Tournament Rules

1. Designated Hitter (DH) or Extra Player (EP) are allowed (10-man line-up may be used). Please inform the other coach prior to the game as to your plan for the game.

2. Extra Hitter(s) or continuous batting order - may be used. Defensive substitutions may be made at any time in any fashion if you are using a continuous batting order.

3. Re-Entry Rule may be used (a starter may re-enter one time during a game, provided he bats in the same position).

4. Speed Up Rule: run for catcher & pitcher at any time (must use previously batted out or a player that has not entered the game). Mandatory for catcher with 2 outs.

5. No pitching limitations (coach’s discretion).

6. Balk rules: ONE warning per team during pool play. No warnings during final 2 games. (13U only)

7. All games will be seven (7) innings in length or 105-minutes. No new inning will start after 1 hour and 45 minutes.

8. Slide Rule - a player must slide or attempt to slide on all close plays (umpire’s discretion). No runner may slide PAST any base in an attempt to break up a double play. The runner going into the base and the batter will be called out immediately.

9. National Federation Baseball Rules will be utilized unless otherwise listed. The umpires will have full discretion over all aspects of play. No protests will be considered.

10. No jewelry may be worn during games (e.g., earrings, necklaces, rings, etc.).

11. SAFETY: On deck hitters will retrieve all dead balls that go to the backstop. On deck hitter may only swing in the designated areas behind the batter at the plate.

12. Helmets are to remain on until the player returns to the dugout area.

13. Bats: There are no restrictions.

14. Only one minute is allowed between each half inning. Players must hustle in and out. The umpire shall declare a ball if the pitcher or catcher are not prepared or a strike should the batter not be ready in the box. Intentional walks will be granted by simply notifying the umpire. No pitched ball is needed.

15. The park is fully enclosed except for a few small entry points. Any and all overthrows shall remain in play, unless in a dead ball area.

16. Sportsmanship is a TOP PRIORITY in this tournament.

17. All umpires are members of the Wisconsin Umpires Association.

18. Let us all hope for a rain free weekend. Should there be problems I will do everything to get the games in. I will have my cell phone with me at all times and can be reached at 414-915-8933. Refunds will be fair.

19. A coin flip shall be made 5 minutes before game time to determine home or away.

20. Tiebreakers 1) Head to head  2) Fewest runs allowed  3) Most runs scored  4) Coin flip
